KOICA Tajikistan Office is accepting applications for a position of the Technical Service (Driver)

 

1.      ABOUT KOICA

·         Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) was founded on April 1, 1991, as a government agency responsible for grant aid to support poverty eradication and socio-economic development in developing countries, enhancing international development cooperation as well as strengthening partnerships with developing countries.

·         KOICA Tajikistan office has opened officially in February 2022, and plays a crucial role in establishing KOICA’s field-oriented aid programs. In particular, the office will make a great effort to maximize the effectiveness of aid programs by discussing policies and researching demand with Tajik governments.

 

2.      Position / Vacancy: Technical service (Driver) / 1 person

 

3.      JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Provide transportation of authorized personnel including translation of basic conversations from/to the local language, and/or delivery of various items/commodities following authorized KOICA’s safety and security rules and regulations to ensure safe and efficient services;

·        Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport or other entry points and provide basic assistance with visa and customs formalities to facilitate smooth and safe entry and arrival to the authorized destinations;

·        Responsible for accurate maintenance of the vehicle log books, and daily reporting to the supervisor on mechanical status, to ensure efficient vehicle use and fuel consumption supporting accurate accounting and cost-efficiency;

·        Responsible that the assigned vehicle is kept clean and in a good condition including all equipment, the maintenance is done on time, vehicle is fully equipped with required travel authorizations and supplies, and any mechanical issues are reported to the supervisor to ensure safe and efficient services;

·        Follow established rules and regulations for field deliveries and/or in cases of an accident, and report immediately to the supervisor on any apparent problems, to seek for instructions and facilitate informative decisions on the way forward;

·        Outside driving duties, perform basic office related tasks such as filing, photocopying and maintaining stores when required including delivery/collection of various items, mailing service and payment of office telephone and other bills to ensure administrative support to clients;

·        Produce monthly records of mileage travelled and fuel consumed for the assigned vehicle;

·        Take the steps required in accordance with the rules and regulations in case of an accident;

·        Perform other related duties as required;

 

4.      ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Age: Irrelevant;

·         Gender: Irrelevant;

·         Residence: Dushanbe;

·         Education

-        Completion of secondary school education;

-        Formal drivers training with a valid driver’s license/certification to operate assigned vehicle following local rules and regulations;

·         Driving license: Category B(essential), Category D(preferred)

·         work experience: 5 or more years of work experience as a Driver, preferably in an international organization or embassy with a demonstrated safe driving record. Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans, trucks and other kinds of motorized vehicles. Experience in defensive driving is desirable;

 

5.      QUALIFICATIONS

·         Fluency in Tajik and Russian, candidates with Korean or English language skills are preferred;

·         Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, local roads and conditions, and security issues;

·         Knowledge of the vehicle loading capacity and other parameters;

·         Knowledge of driving/boat operating rules and regulations whichever applicable;

·         Knowledge of safety standards and safety equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers, buoyant wearable safety devices, etc.). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;

·         Knowledge and ability to use radio, email, telephone and other applications;

·         Ability to assess vehicles for mechanical fitness and skills in minor vehicle repairs;

·         Ability to demonstrate a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy and tact;

 

6.      APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

·         KOICA’s application shall be completed in English;

·         Education diploma;

·         Driving License;

·         Recommendation letter enveloped and sealed;

·         Criminal certificate.

 

7.      CONDITIONS

·         Working hours 8:30 ~ 17:30(Mon. to Fri.);

·         Work place: KOICA Tajikistan Office;

·         Basis Salary: USD 500~550;

-        Final Salary based on interview results;

-        Personal income tax (12%) and individual rate of social security tax (2%) are including in Basic Salary(withholding tax);

-        The office shall pay employee’s social security tax (20%).

-        (If necessary) Additional Driving Test will be held;

·         Announcement of successful applicant: 25.07.2022.;

·         Contract signing: 27.07.2022.;

·         Start date: 01.08.2022.;
